Facebook Removes Privacy on search

Facebook has released an official notice that they have removed the privacy on search by name setting, earlier this setting was there on facebook which allows the users to customize their search option so that anyone can’t be able to locate their profile by searching on facebook.

On Thursday , an official update was made by Facebook’s Chief Privacy Officer Michael Richter by illustrating the facts why it was removed as a setting.

 He stated that ” The setting was created when facebook was a simple directory of profiles and was limited .It also not provide the complete security as the person profile can be accessed by clicking on the news feed of the mutual friend.Today, people can also search Facebook using Graph Search (for example, “People who live in Jalandhar,”) making it even more important to control the privacy of the things you share rather than how people get to your Timeline”.

 He also disclosed that the facebook users was very much limited near about 1.2 billion which were using these setting.The users using that setting will receive a notification on their home page and user has to click on a button reading, “Okay, I understand.” These notifications will be out in upcoming weeks, the company officials said.
